Multimodal Transportation of Lithium Batteries (49 CFR, TDGR, ADR, IMDG, ICAO/IATA) - English 2026
This course is designed to provide training on the safe transportation of lithium batteries in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 (49 CFR), Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR); Transport Canada, Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (TDGR); the Agreement Concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR); the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code); the International Civil Aviation Organization Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air (ICAO TI) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Updates include, but are not limited to the following changes:

- Removal of the phone number requirement for the Battery Mark (IATA)/Lithium Battery Mark (49 CFR)
- Changes to existing state and operator variations in IATA
- New UN numbers adopted for vehicles powered by lithium ion, lithium metal or sodium ion batteries
- Updated requirements for battery powered vehicles
- The 30% SoC restriction on lithium batteries remains a recommendation in 2025, and becomes mandatory in 2026 for air transport
