This 49 CFR, General Awareness, Function Specific, Safety & Security Compliance (2024) course is intended for the training of hazmat employees responsible for the handling, preparation, shipping, or transportation of hazardous materials by ground in accordance with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations using 49 CFR.

It complies with the required training elements of general awareness, function specific as well as safety and security awareness training and can be used for initial and recurrent training. The 49 CFR, General Awareness, Function Specific, Safety & Security Compliance meets the regulatory training requirements set out in 49 CFR, Part 172, Subpart H, for all hazmat employees involved in the safe transportation of hazardous materials by ground and includes all recent amendments and interpretations

 

Learning Objective(s)

  • - Navigating 49 CFR to determine classification/identification, non-bulk packaging, marking, labeling, placarding, and documentation requirements for the safe transportation of hazardous materials.

  • - Hazmat employees with job responsibilities for shipping, logistics, management, carriers and freight forwarders who prepare, handle, ship or transport hazardous materials by ground to, from or within the US. This may include but are not limited to the following: warehouse staff that are packaging hazardous materials,
